Here is an ocarina that there is very little information on. From looking at the pics of it, it is very transverse. I would appreciate input, either pro or con on this instrument from someone who owns it. It is an interesting design.
Thank you,
Jerry.
Music is magic. It can make the bitterest adversaries tap their toe to the same tune.

Message Desmond.  Between he and Cris, I think they have most of the ocarinas STL sells.

I love the look and colors of the horn but there's almost no info on it.

I was considering buying this one. I just wish there was more info on it.

Yep. I wish Desmond or Chris would review it for us. I don't know if they have it or not though.

Just found a couple links of people playing the tenor horn:

Sounds pretty good.

This ocarina is really bugging me. The fact that there is practically no info on it. I couldn't help but notice that the neck-strap holes are on the side, not on the mouthpiece. I'm going to buy it next. Wish me luck!

I noticed that there really wasn't much info on this one, but I bought it anyway. I'll definitely post the pros and cons when I receive it.

STL 12 Hole Tenor Horn Ocarina Review

Ok so here's my take on this ocarina. The ocarina to me seemed a little small. However, I have fairly large hands and so I expect that most ocarinas will be small to me. Either way, I am still able to hold it comfortably. My hands do get cramped after a while of holding, but I've heard that comes with all ocarinas. The sound produced from it seems fine to me. The high notes are clear as well and have little to no air-ish sound. My only real complaint about this ocarina would be the neck strap that came with it. The neck strap had some type of tinsel material sown into it and this made it really itchy to wear. Luckily I was able to successfully pull out the tinsel stuff with a knife. So now all is well and I can wear it around my neck comfortably. So overall to me this seems like a fine ocarina. I can't really compare it to anything else since it's my first, but it seems good to me.

Pros:

Easy to hold
Looks nice :D
Sounds good

Cons:

Neck strap that came with it was uncomfortable. This, however, was fixed.

I'd give it a 5/5. I'm happy with it.

A quick look through my box of neckstraps that I've acquired over the years and I found what you're talking about. I found the black neckstrap with a strip of gold tinsel running through it that I believe came on my Aria. You're right; you could easily pull it out if you found it agitating. I never use neckstraps, anyways. I'm glad you recieved your ocarina and are pleased with it.

The only time I've almost broken an ocarina... was due to a neck strap.  I am not a fan of neck straps, though I understand why some people like them.

So I've owned this ocarina for about a month and a half now, and I'm not comfortable reviewin it because it is my first ocarina, but I will say that I can hit every note without any airy sound and I personally think it sounds quite nice and plays well. As i said it is my first so I have nothing to compare it to but I think it's a great product. It has treated me well as my first ocarina, the only critique I have is its kind of awkward using the subholes but that may be with most or all ocarinas. I'm not sure. All in all though it's great!
I played my first ocarina and was hooked ;)
