This is where you give recording tips/hardware advice and discuss how to make quality backtracks via midi files.

If this is a stupid question, I'm sorry. But what are backtracks? I haven't done music/played a musical instrument in 2 years and I forgot some of the 'musical lingo'.

Backtracks are recorded music that you can play along with. Like having the piano/other instruments accompany you while you play the melody of a song, only it's recorded and you can put them on for ipod and practice with them.
Let the music flow from your soul, so that you may play from your heart.

Ooooh, okay. I understand. Thanks for the explanation. I never play anything with a backtrack, but I'll have to try sometime.

Glad to help. :D

It's quite a bit of fun, I really enjoy playing with backtracks.

Can we put 'live amplification' as well in this section?
I think studio recording gear and live gear is about the same, and it doesn't appear like this section has a lot of topics.

I'm sure a lot of people would love to connect to hardware or software to add live effects to their sound, without recording.

Thanks!  ;)

I like this idea, but since this area isn't all that busy anyway, don't worry about being precisely on topic.

I'm happy to answer questions about amplification and sound processing.  This is an area of particular interest to me.
