  The Teacarina

We are proud to introduce our newest innovation, the Teacarina! This is a teacup that doubles as an ocarina! Use this diverse product to enjoy your favorite cup of tea or coffee and then play your favorite song after you are finished! Our parents always taught us not to play with our food, but times have changed! This unique item allows you to both enjoy your food and play with it!

The Teacarina is about 3.5 inches in diameter.
It can play 8 diatonic notes and comes with a fingering chart.
The Teacarina is dishwasher and microwave safe.

Here is a video featuring the Teacarina!

I REALLY want to order a set of these (I am a HUGE tea fan), but they are so expensive. Almost to the point of accepting that buying a single would be a waste of money due to the savings of a set.
You see things and say, why?
But I dream things that never were; and I say,

Why not?

I would love to buy a set of these. They look great. I drink a lot of coffee so these are perfect.

It looks like a youtube glitch.  It should be working again soon.

I have seriously considered buying a set. I think my kids would love them. Waiting for my Echo tenor to come for now though.

I've seen a picture of the fipple side and there seems
to be two thumb holes, which would make it a 6-hole ocarina.
Are they ever used? Or are they from a different model?

I am particularly interested in the metallic one[1] 8),
but the item description seems to have been
copied-and-pasted from the ceramic ones.

I have two questions:
1. Which metal is used?
2. Is it "dishwasher and microwave safe" (like the ceramic ones)?

I also liked the color scheme of tea2 [2] and tea5 [3],
but the inside colour seems to be noticeably different.
Could someone who owns them verify whether
the pictures are correct, please?

P.S.: I tried to contact support over a week ago, but got no response so far.
If this is not the correct topic to ask these questions, please point me to the right place ;D

I'm pretty sure it just has a metallic finish to it; its made of ceramics like the rest.

That's right - none of them are metal.  If there were a metal one it would be a lot more expensive than the others.

Then the description is kind of misleading... :(
It should be "metallic finish", as you say; not simply "metallic".

That's right - none of them are metal.  If there were a metal one it would be a lot more expensive than the others.
My main concern was that, depending on the metal used,
it would transfer heat from the tea to my hand. That and
the fact that metal is definitely not microwave safe ::)

Any info on the thumb holes and/or the inside colour of tea2 and tea5?

Just if anyone is interested in this... the pitch range of the teacarina is C5 to C6.
At least I believe it is - I derived this information from the video where it is played.

It should also be possible to play sharps and flats on it as well (C#/Db needs one hole to be partly covered though).
At least this is probably the case if it behaves like a normal 6-hole without the thumbholes. ^^

Official information about this should be added to the opening post as well as to the homepage.
