You could wear it, just keep in mind that it is ceramic, so I'd be careful where you wear it and when.  Some of my younger students decided to wear theirs while riding their bikes.  Not the best idea!  Now their ocarinas are rather chipped, but fortunately not broken.

Ugh, I remember wearing my pendant to church the other night. Seemed safe enough. But when I leaned over the seats, my poor pendant (ceramic mind you) smacked against the metal support in the chair's back! DX

Fortunatly it lived . . . ..Not sure how (Used to the abuse by now? XD)

My youngest son (7 years old) has the dolphin 4 hole.  I have been using the ocarinas to teach my kids music theory.  He wore it all the time then it got a small chip in its tail.  So the good --  it is durable.  The bad -- he refuses to wear it now for fear of it breaking.  The ugly -- a gimpy dolphin's well loved tail.

All in all, the sound is good, but after an hour of practice the high tone gets to me.  I have him move on to a tenor rupee.
