I was going for just the ceramics. I like the looks of the rupee better though, my nephew might feel left out because his mother prefers purple to the current blue and green standard 6 holes. I really don't have a problem with getting either.

I've heard that one of the thumb holes are placed awkwardly and uncomfortable to play for long periods of time. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Yes, the left thumb hole is placed on the side at an angle. Here is a video review. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHtpSaNxEWw

How come some of the colors were taken off of the site? Are they no longer in stock?  :'(

Yes, but usually colors come back when another shipment comes in.  Be patient and all should be well.  You could email them too - just to let them know what you want.

Some new colours would be great as well. I always thought that the other colours except blue are to pale / bright.

I was thinking something along the same lines, though I feel that ones like the orange could have a different shade of orange, since it looks more reddish than I feel it should, then again, that could be me.   :-\

Queen, do you own the orange? (I do) I would call it anything but red-orange. The shade is a lot brighter than depicted on the site.

I don't. Is it brighter? I suppose it must be a trick of the light in the photograph if it is. My bad. ^^;

Hello everyone!

The rupee colors are now as follows: yellow, orange, green, blue, and purple. Red will no longer be available.

We did just update our website, new pictures and all. Sometimes computer screens can slightly change the color of the picture you are looking at online.

I just got the Tenor Rupee and the 6 Hole Legend of Zelda Potion Ocarina. The tenor Rupee is not at the same pitch as the 6 Hole Legend of Zelda Potion Ocarina. The 6 Hole Legend of Zelda Potion Ocarina goes from C5 to E6. The Tenor Rupee starts off a half a pitch to a pitch higher than the C5. You can get the C5 if you barely blow into the ocarina. But, overall, I found the entire ocarina to be slightly higher pitched than the Potion Pendant. The thumb hole fingering "feels" awkward, to me, in the Rupee, as well. The Rupee is a nice looking ocarina, but I'm just not pleased with the sound, though it does have more volume than the 6 Hole Legend of Zelda Potion Ocarina. I also noted the fingering for the B note is different than most standard 6 hole pendant ocarinas. On the plus side, the flat design is nice as it lies closer to the body when worn.

If the ocarina plays sharp, as you described, try making the cavity of your mouth larger. Open up your throat more. Are you sure about the B?

Edit: You're correct. The B is different than other pendant ocarinas. It is played with right-index rather than left-middle.
