As ocarinas are sold and new ocarinas become available this thread will be recreated to reflect the currently available ocarinas.

***This line of ocarinas were limited edition. They can no longer be found on the site, so I can not replace the pictures. Sorry for the inconvenience.***

Didn't Laura play one of these with Heather in a duet? It had very interesting sound characteristics. It actually took me a while to figure out which model it is. (Sorry, I'd provide a Youtube link, but the computer that I'm using at the moment only has dialup. :( )

Actually no, the one I used was made by the artist who makes our single chamber 2 octave ocarinas.  I think he's not doing too much with regular single chambered ocarinas anymore now that he is in semi-retirement.  It's a fantastic ocarina though.  Requires quite a bit of air, but that's what I like.

What I'd really like are the new "rocky" Chen Ching ocarinas.  (The irregular shaped ones.  Here's one of them http://stlocarina.com/092218.html).  Those feel really good in the hands and are so easy to play.  Chen Ching tends to articulate the notes alot with a fast airflow when he plays, which suits my playing style perfectly.

I'm thinking Christmas...

By the way, the picture isn't showing up in this thread, at least not on my computer.  Is anyone else having that problem?

[admin]I have identified this problem and am looking into it.[/admin]

I will be recording sound samples of a lot of these in the next coming weeks.  It's so exciting to get to see them all in person and play them.  They are all so unique both in beauty and sound.

I like the inline one, as it reminds me of a chili pepper.

wow... really cool.... interested to know what are their sound qualities?  Loud, soft?  High or low breath pressure?  totally clear sound or is it textured in anyway....

I think we remarked on the sound a bit on the website, although Heather has recorded some of them and will be doing more, so you'll have a chance to hear for yourself.

They are all varied in the type of sound, bright and projecting, mellow and introverted, etc.

Yeah, it's supposed to serve a dual purpose of both comfort and having a naturalistic/rocky sort of look.  They are really comfortable and easy to hold!
