Helpful Tips For Making and Fulfilling Requests
« on: January 05, 2013, 11:53:34 AM »
When making a request please include at least one of the following:

~ A Youtube video of the song you would like tabbed
~ Sheet music

If you can't find either one of these that's ok, but one or both will help your song get tabbed faster, especially if it's not well known. The more information you can provide the better.  =)

When Fulfilling a request:

~Please create a separate in the 12 hole section with all the pertinent information (title, what it's from) so that a mod can add it to one of the index threads and make sure you get credit for it.

This also helps out the other forum members (especially new ones) so everything that is available for the 12 hole is in one place, and no one has to go searching for it. It also helps us keep double tabbing down to a minimum.

Please let me know if you have any questions.   ^.^

Find the vid on youtube, then copy and paste the url in your comment/reply and it will hyperlink back to the vid itself=)

Question!

I am very, very new here.

A. What is a "separate" and how do I create it?

B. I have found a lot of requested items on the internet already and have been connecting the requesters to the internet page. Is that all right?

Thank you!!!

Hi there and welcome :)
To answer your questions:

Question!
A. What is a "separate" and how do I create it?

What is meant here is a separate thread. Make a new thread on the 12 Hole Tabs page once you finished a piece, instead of responding to a request with your piece. Feel free to let the requester know though that you have found/posted a piece. It's meant to prevent duplicates :)

Question!
B. I have found a lot of requested items on the internet already and have been connecting the requesters to the internet page. Is that all right?
Thank you!!!

I don't know about that. The mod for this board is inactive , so I you can probably just go for it :P.

Welcome to the board :) Nice to have new people coming in. Have fun!

My request keeps getting deleted. Why is that?

It's probably because you're making a request to violate the copyright of a known ocarina player.  It's best to contact him directly rather than try to get his music elsewhere. The sheet music is available on his website and if you like his music you should support him.  He's also very accessible on Twitter and other places, and given that he does work for a competitor of STL, it would be really bad form to allow copyright infringement of his work here.
