Hey guys, I've been practicing playing Viva la Vida by Coldplay but I can't hit the note that dips down at the end of the chorus where he says "rule the world". Any head position or some other tip for getting lower notes? Otherwise I"ll just have to find a way to ease the high notes into the low notes or the low to high X_X

Unfortunately not. The lowest note is decided by the chamber size.  You could try underblowing - but typically low a takes a lot less breath....

Thanks, I'll give it a try but I think I'll just have to arrange the notes in a different way if that's the case.

By tilting the ocarina upwards and using very little breath, you can reach as low as G. I find that this technique is easier to use on my soprano, but on either that or my tenor it is difficult and inconvenient to do during songs.

If you have a soprano, you can try the fipple bend (usually used on pendant ocarinas)- I can reach the fipple on my soprano, but no way on my tenor.

Fipple bending on a tenor. That sounds nearly impossible.

*checks*
*cough cough*

*weakly* Yup... it is...
Go ahead and play your music. You never know, you just might make someones day.
And now for something completely off base, Kirby Dance!

So I just figured out how to do a fipple bend on the tenor but you have to be able to extend your tongue out underneath to achieve it, it sounds like a low G but I dunno how practical it is to stick out your tongue like that mid song >.<

Haha, I just meant on my soprano xD The tongue idea sounds... unique... :P I can't imagine that looking very normal during a song... lol

We'll just call it unique and leave it at that xD

Just out of curiosity, I tried it for fun last night. xD I can't deny its effectiveness, but I question is aesthetic status. (:

Wait...where did you find Viva la vida tabs for 12 hole? Or are you playing it by ear?

All I could find we're tabs for 6 hole, and they weren't even complete.
